Hi Movie Storyline and Plot
Located at the heart of Hi is Mayilsamy or Mayil, a young man from Coimbatore whose experiences with love haven’t always been straightforward. When Mayil is rejected, he starts to lose hope in love and marriage. His quest to find a meaningful relationship leads him to Devayani (Nayanthara). Devayani is a strong-minded and independent woman, and is given a different perspective in this novel than the typical romantic heroine who’s given no second thoughts to the expectations placed on her.
Another aspect of the story is the personal details of Devayani. She has trouble with her father Indiran (Prabhu) due to financial issues and family pressures. The circumstances for an arranged marriage put Devayani in a tough spot and ultimately leads to the unexpected Devayani-Mayil relationship. The narrative then moves from the issue of whether two people can meet to whether they can really understand one another.
